When I install EMC9DS on top of EMC9S, both MyDVD and VideoWave will not load mpg files giving the WARNING "One or more of the files that you are trying to add cannot be edited, and have not been added".  These mpg files were created by EMC9S Video Capture and previously loaded into EMC9S MyDVD and VideoWave successfully.

When I do a clean install of EMC9DS per "Clean Installation of Easy Media Creator" (Roxio Knowledgebase -- ID Number 000086CR), I get the application startup ERROR "The certificate file is missing or corrupted, please reinstall".  I have tried every recommended fix I have come across on this site with no luck (run Repair / delete sarlicense9.dat / etc.).

I have been beating on this for weeks and would appreciate any help.

DSid you check for hidden folders - especially in \Documents and Settings\User Name? There is one there caleld Application Data and you have to set tools to show hidden files and folders. Go into that ane delete any Sonic and Roxio folders in it.

Also, download and run the MS Installer cleanup utility and see if both those help.

If they don't work, let us know

I have tried two more clean installs of EMC9DS, both with the same resulting application startup ERROR "The certificate file is missing or corrupted, please re-install".  For one clean install I used Windows Installer Clean Up Utility; for the second I used Add / Remove Programs and then checked that the Windows Installer Clean Up Utility didn't find anything left over.

On both clean installs I found and removed all the listed folders and hidden folders.  I prefer not to mess with the Registry --- I use Registry Mechanic (PC Tools Software) instead.  Is this my down fall?

Any further advise will be appreciated and tried......... I'm at the end of the rope!
