I bought My DVD8 specifically to be able to edit commercials out of Tivo shows which I downloaded and then burn them to a CD for future viewing.
But I cannot figure out how to edit in My DVD8. The Help sections seem useless. I did manage to trim some commercial stuff from the beginning of one file, but I haven't yet figured out how to edit things out of a Tivo program before I burn it to a DVD.
All that stuff with Edit Movie (storyline and timeline) makes no sense to me so far.
Can anyone point me to some help on this?
Thanks.
Mike

I'm not sure what you have for a video editor in MyDVD 8. If you do have an editor and you have options for timeline and storyline, then you can cut out the commercials anywhere in the video.
There is a demo video on how to cut out sections of a video here. There are also instructions on how to do it. Although these are for VideoWave 9, they may work for you if you have the editor.
Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.

Steve,
Thanks for the reference, but that doesn't look like the movie editor in My DBD8 at all.
Any other suggestions?

I have MyDVD 8 Essentials because I didn't know I would need anything else. Essentials will allow me to burn the Tivo to a DVD but, from what you say, only Premiere will allow me to edit the Tivo programs? I wish I'd known that before I bought it!
