Has anyone bought the new certified version of EMC 9 off Roxio's web site?  If you have, would you please go to your home page of Roxio Creator 9 Home and click on the help button?  I'd like to know what specific version you are running.

From looking at Microsoft's site, the specific version that is Vista "certified" is "9.1.45".  So I am curious if the version being offered for purchase and download at this time is 9.1.45.  I suppose anything equal to or greater than the ".45" part of the version number is Vista certified, but I am only speculating on that thought.

Mainly, I am just curious to know what version is being offered for download and purchase at this time.  Thanks for any feedback.

As far as i know.. and im not a roxio staffer... but they should be getting version number 910b22t release?
it is the 9.1 (vista cert release) standard suit only (but then again what do i know...)
if you buy the deluxe version you will still get the older build numbers NON 9.1...
as that hassnt been released yet as far as iv heard
Hope that helps you

Didn't I read on the forum a few days ago that someone had downloaded the latest version on Friday night and that it was still v.9.0 at that time ? Unfortunately I can't locate the post.

This is interesting, particularly Doci's reply.  The certified build version is posted on Microsoft's site at the following link:

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/933305

When you move down in this link, it clearly states the "certified" version for Vista is 9.1.45.  Also, Roxio is advertising its latest version as Vista certified so one would only assume the current download for purchase would be Vista certified.  This makes no sense  unsure.gif

Doci, you might want to check with Roxio and get their feedback.  If you do, any feedback on the forum here would be appreciated.

Id ring Roxio and ask them (or email Them) and say why is the version shown on the link here
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/933305,
diferent from the one i downloaded?, theres not more i can say, thats what id do?

There are two flavours of EMC9 , there is the standard suit and there is the deluxe one...
See here it shows you what you get in both
http://www.roxio.com/enu/products/creator/creator.html
im sorry if your pissed you didnt get the deluxe one if thats what you wanted , but they are both shown on there web site, and at the time you could have got what ever one you wanted,

also there is advertising on the main console of all EMC's so what you are seeing is just them telling you that there is a deluxe version out if it detects you have the standad suit

as to xingtones, it dose work , do a search on the top of the page for it and see if there is anything to help you.
see here:
http://forums.support.roxio.com/index.php?...hlite=xingtones

hope this helps you

Would you be able to check what version and build is placed at the download server?
When in doubt, reinstall.
If it installs, it's supported.

On 16 May I purchased EMC9 Suite ESD UG/EM
Downloaded files : 1Z22TZX0R03_EMCSuitev9.1efigsd.exe & 2006EZS0R03_ContentCDv9.1.exe
Version 9.1.068
Build: 910B68R, R03
I have not had any problems in Vista HP with this build or the trial version that was posted by John.
It is amazing what can be done with this suite and a well set-up pc.
I have never been a fan of Roxio Products but this has impressed me.

Nerus, as malatekid mentioned, the new version that seems to be certified to run on Win Vista is called 9.1.45.  However, it seems the latest version anyone is getting from the download version is 9.1.068.  The .068 is lower than .45 so it seems to be a safe assumption that version 9.1.068 is NOT certified by MS like version 9.1.45.  Why has Roxio advertised a certified version on their web site when it does not seem to be available?  The MS web site is very clear that 9.1.45 is the one and only certified version at this time.

Even if the build 9.1.068 runs flawlessly, it seems strange that Roxio is advertising the "certified" version on their web site when it doesn't appear to exist, at least at this time.  Unfortunately, we are left in the dark with no explanations from Roxio.

Roxio has a great product.  It's just sad to see this poor level of customer service.

Oh, I know 9.1.068 is lower than the 9.1.45 stated by the MS site.
However, I'd give the benefit of doubt that it could simply be a mislabel of the '0' being left out on the MS site.  Or that MS dropped the '0' for some version requirement for release.

If that's the case, whereas the download build is later than the build certified, I just presume that a patch would be coming soon, since releasing a full application takes longer than a patch.
When in doubt, reinstall.
If it installs, it's supported.

At this point, I wouldn't "presume" anything.  There can be little doubt it's being worked on and the only doubt is when it will be released.

Actually writing a patch can be just as difficult as writing the full application. The patch has to work with several revisions.
