Even with the disc left open, it should be readable in any PC.
In anycase, after you click Burn, there is a checkbox in Record Methods for Read Only. Place a checkmark there and the disc will be finalized.

I try set and clean Read-Only Disc check box, but it doesn't help me.
Recording process containing:
1. Writing TOC
2. Writing user tracks
3. Closing session or disc
Third step of recording is not available when I write a CD's. Setting of Read-Only Disc check box don't influence on my problem. When recording is finished, disc is empty. I use Creator Classic and not Drag-To-Disc.

Do you have Internet Explorer 7 (IE 7) and/or Windows Media Player 11 (WMP 11) installed? Both of them break EMC 7.

Do you have SP4, for Windows 2000, installed. It is one of the requirements.

As commented above, what are the specifications of your computer?
It is not considered polite to hijack someone else's thread instead of adding to your own - but did you notice the suggestion to
Read the users manual(usually on the installation disc)or the help files in the program that you are using. ?
And if you want to KEEP the data, NEVER use RW media. I lost the 80% of the data that wasn't also on the Hard Drive when the RW blanked out. RW is for TEMPORARY use only, when the original is still safe on the originating compuer.

I'm Russian. I speak on english very bad. I have a problem with Roxio Creator Classic 7 (or 7.5). I have the recorder Hitachi-LG Data Storage GCC-4520B. When I write data on disc with Roxio Creator Classic 7, Creator Classic say that disc recorded successful. But I try to read this disc, program say that this disc is empty. When I write Audio CD this problem is not available.
Recording on disc contents:
Step 1: Writing a TOC.
Step 2: Writing a User Tracks.
Step 3: Closing session (or disc).
3rd step is not available when I write data on disc. How decide of this problem? Please, help me.
I search the answer in 10 sites, but I don't find it.
P.S: Sorry for my "weak" english.

instead of burning directly to the CD, choose to make an 'image (.iso) file on the hard drive
insert blank disc and open the .iso file with disc copier
see if that works

If you want to add data to discs, do not close the disk.
When you want to add files to a CD in Creator Classic, you may need to 'import' (icon near Burn disc) the files from the CD so that you do not get the CD is empty message.
Can you see the files on the CD using Windows Explorer?
Have you tried visiting the LG website to see if there are any firmware or software updates available for the burner? Sometimes manufacturers issue updates to solve burning problems.
