I created a DVD with MyDVD with movies and a photo slideshow. On the project settings I did place check mark to archive photos. But after creation I do not see images on the physical DVD. Am I missing something? It was my thought that the jpg's should be included on the final DVD.

They should be assuming they were individual jpgs added to the project… I think it creates an "Archive" folder on the disc.

If you created your Project in VideoWave and Output it as an mpg, the individual files no longer exist – as far as the program is concerned.

(In this post I assume you mean that you opened up the DVD on your computer and are looking for .jpg extension files)
The images should be on the DVD... is there a "YOUR_PHOTOS" folder on the DVD?  If not, create an image instead of burning it, and check the image.  The test I did was entirely in MyDVD -> I just created the slideshow with the add slideshow button.

Another method to include data in the finished DVD is discussed here (see post #2 and #7).

PS: Larry, maybe consider to combine the two posts and add to the Tips and Tricks section?

is there a "YOUR_PHOTOS" folder on the DVD?  If not, create an image instead of burning it, and check the image.  I just created the slideshow with the add slideshow button.

No there is no YOUR_PHOTOS folder. I did create an image first as I allways do. I also used the add slideshow button in MyDVD.

The second time I had it create an image and burn to a DVD. That time it did include the photos and created the YOUR_PHOTOS folder on DVD. But what is odd is I turned around and burnt another using disc copier and there were no photos added to DVD. I have to find something to view the iso to see what is in it. My old winiso doesnt want to open it.

Seems to be a sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't situation. In previous releases this had allways worked for me.

To see what's in the iso, use disc image loader (part of EMC 9) which creates a virtual drive and lets you load the iso image onto it the drive will appear in Windows Explorer with the next available drive letter; you may get some found new hardware messages from Windows, just ignore those). Use the same app to remove the virtual driive if you don't want to keep it (needs reboot after removal before you can create another one).

Or if you right click on the iso file, the context menu has load into new emulated drive, which does it all in one step; but if you have an emulated drive already, you can eject the currently loaded iso and load another one, just like swapping DVDs in a player.
