HI All
I made my first DVD of my daughters dance recital and produced 20 copies for other parents as well. It went over well. My question is " what is required to put anticopy protection on a DVD? I am using Movie Creator and Nero for creation and burning. The system works well even though Movie Creator is an old program I am happy with it completely. I had tried other programs many times before finding this one so switching or updating is not wished at this time. Is there a small copyrite program or something?
Thanks

Do a search on the net for 'how to copy protect dvd's' and you'll find the info you need. What you want to do can't be done with Roxio/Sonic. In fact, nothing you do will fully protect your dvd but can deter people wanting to copy it.

Ask Sony thay have been at it so long they have created disc's that now won't play in a settop DVD player because of all the protection.

The bad men break it everday. The sap that buys it or orders it over NetFlix or BlockBuster is having all the problems!

Search Google, but remember it won't stop the bad men.

Well that is true, was not even thinking about that. I was just thinking about using it for a small fund raiser for the club. Keeping it simple is all. If some one wants to hack it well I guess the time waisted for a $10.00 DVD is cheap fun.

You're probably going to find that most club members won't have the computer knowledge to copy the DVD.

I belong to a club and encourage people to copy the DVDs that I make for other club members to save my time and wear and tear on my equipment.

Most look at me with blank stares when I suggest it. It's a whole lot easier to let me make the copies than to figure out how to do it themselves.

You could put a color panel at the beginning with a copywrite message. Most people are honest and won't copy it especially since they know it's a club fundraiser.

After all, for the $10 price that you're charging, it's not worth most people's time to copy it.
