i've just purchased and installed media creator 9.1 on my dual p4 2.66gz, xp sp2 machine w 2gb ddr2 ram.
i did a full install of easy media creator 9.1, rebooted, then checked for updates (there were none).
i launched one of the video programs for a quick tryout to see how the program functions, but when i tried to render a preview the program caused a crash and hard reboot.
now only "drag to disc" is visible and none of the other programs will launch or run!
i've rebooted several times, tried to launch with task mgr open to see what's running or not. seems the programs are trying to run, but terminate by themselves after 1 second.
i've reinstalled the entire package to no avail... none of the programs will run.
has anyone had a similar experience and knows what the hell is going on?
HELP!
thanks,
~g

since the program crashed the first time when you tried to render a preview, have you checked your video card driver? what kind of video card do you have and what's the driver date?

Your problem may be the graphics - in general LE cards can't cope very well
You could try updating the drivers from nVidia and installing the latest DirectX 9.0c from MS and try again but use software render instead of hardware
What may also help is if you split the job in two - output the render to an image file on the hard drive and then open that with Disc Copier so that the program doesn't have to render and burn at the same time

If it ain't broke, fiddle with it until it breaks, then fiddle with it until you get it fixed

will do, thanks. i'm thinkin it was the hardware rendering that must've done it because i remember using that setting. i was just surprised the card wouldn't be able to handle it since i've been editing big dvd projects on premiere pro and earlier versions of ezcd for years without incident.
i'll try updating all drivers and the latest directx 9.0c and see what happens.
i still have the problem that none of the programs will launch, so how will i even be able to change the setting to software render???
thanks,
~g

I had a problem with the media selector. When ever I would tell whatever app to open the media selector so I could get my media into the app, it would show for about 1 second and everything would close.
I did a repair install and that seemed to fix it.
Maybe try that.
