How can I disable that MMTray applet from starting. I've done a custom install to remove as much bloat as possible. I did not install Media Manager. I don't want anything watching my drives. I would like to permanently remove this feature. Can anyone help?

Thanks,
PCH

Start->Run. Type in MSConfig. Startup tab. From there, you can disable it on startups. If you didn't install it, it sounds kind of odd that its there... Let me know if it actually shows up in the MSConfig startup tab...

No it doesn't show up anywhere (services or startups). I looked everywhere I can think of in the app without luck. It still shows up in the tray (sort of grayed out). I can click on it and select exit , but that is so lame. I'm begining to feel that this was a mistake (the upgrade). Nero is almost as bad.

Thanks,

Thats really odd... You probably won't like this, but you can try doing a repair install and then seeing if it comes back, then disabling it, or in the worst case, just complete reinstall, and it should pop up, but that would kind of invalidate the point of removing the bulk... As far as I know, roxio is meant to come with the bulk...

When you're looking for it have you seen RoxMediaDB9 or RoxWatchTray9?If so disable those and see what happens.I'll see if I can find it in Vista when I get to that machine.
