I just bought Easy Media Creator 8 and was wondering if anyone knew how you can change a powerpoint presentation into a dvd that you can watch on your television? The salesperson said that I would be able to do this and I can't figure out how! I did the presentation in Microsoft Powerpoint 2003 and copied it to a memorex cd-r. Is this even possible to convert to a dvd, or do I need different software?

Unfortunately Creator doesn't allow you to take a PowerPoint and automatically generate a viewable DVD.  While in theory you could create a slideshow in VideoWave with text, effects, video... this would be a manual process.

http://www.soniacole...Qs/FAQ00140.htm has a quick overview of doing that from a 10,000 foot view.

Somewhere along the line, PP added the ability to burn to CD. Check your versions Help.

There are also some 3rd party software offerings to do this:

Here
Dell 8300 3.0ghz 1.5gb RAM 300gb & 200gb HDs
XP Pro/SP2
NVIDIA GeForce4 MX 440 w/AGP8X

If this helps, a mate of mine uses this and says it is very good for making power point to dvd presentations

THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR THE INFORMATION!! I was starting to think it couldn't be done! I don't work enough with computers to know what is out there, but I did know what I wanted from the powerpoint presentation. When I went to try and find a program to let me convert my presentation over to dvd this salesperson seemed to know what he was talking about! This is frustrating because I spent $100.00 on something that I did not need, or probably will never use again! I suggest doing research on the internet and in disscusion groups before you go out and buy!!!! Don't rely on salespeople to know what they are talking about!! I am not putting salespeople down, I'm just suggesting doing your homework before you buy will save you money in the long run!

I don't think you have wasted $100 bucks, yes you have a product that doesn't do powerpoint to dvd, BUT it does lots of other things... start playing with it, i bet you will find that you use it regally for all sorts of things, as it can be used for picture Cd's , covers, DVDs, ect ect....
good luck with the powerpoint, and I'm sorry you got miss lead by sales people...
