I am using Media Import and trying to capture video and audio from a camcorder.  I am using a USB connection called VideoSafe, which connects to the USB and has input jacks (audio and video or S-video) to connect the camcorder.  I am able to capture video using Media Import but there is no audio recorded even though it plays on the camcorder or a television with audio.

Thanks

Is you camcorder capable of connecting to your computer with a firewire cable?  If it is an analog camcorder, you need to use the software that came with it.  EMC 8 usually recognizes anything connected via USB as a webcam, and most of the time, audio won't be captured.

Is there any other way.  My camcorder does not have a 4, 6 or 9 pin connection like a firewire uses.  Is there a way to have EMC 8 not recognize a USB signal as a web cam, and record the audio?  I read about a board that you can put in your computer that allows you to plug component video/audio cables (red/yellow/white) directly into the computer to capture video and audio.  Any ideas would be appreciated.

Thanks
