i just purchased emc 9 installed it the first time every thing seemed great then i spent a couple of hours putting together a project. i then went to burn my project to dvd and got an error messege not able to compile movie. i checked support help for soloutions i did everthing that was requested. updated my firmware, video drivers, uninstalled dvd drive and reinstalled it used all the patches that was available. same problem every time. i then proceeded to uninstall and reinstall. after folowing all the instructions for a clean uninstall. i tried to reinstall 6 x nothing i then watched ever detail of tghe installation and found out that the program gets to about 75% complete then starts to rollback all the programs that were just installed not sure what could cause this. nothing is running in the backround all av and spy programs off.

i think after reading all the problems that this program has and the lack of support i am just going to bring this big waste of my time software back. and go back to my very functional pinacle studio 9 program.

stay away from this product i think too many programs in one software product make for one big disater!!!!

The problem with your compilation was no doubt a non-supported or corrupt file in your production.  There may have been no need to reinstall the software.

thanks for replying unfoutuantly that does not help me much. i am trying to reinstall this program with no luck at all it just keeps on rolling itself back (uninstalling) just looking for some help please or elese it is back to the store!!!!

You need to do a clean install.  Follow the steps in this article:

thanks again for the reply but if you read my post did that 2 times already. i even tried to reinstall my record now program by sonic and that will not install. something is preventing just sonic and roxio products from reininstalling. and by the way i get no error messeges if that helps.

Did you look through your registry and make sure that there were no files?
Did you use the windows installer clean up utility?
Did you try these AFTER you started getting the installation problems?

i installed registry mechanic and ran the scan several times and found 15 references to creator 9 that i was unable to delete this could be causing my reinstallation problems not sure any help on how to delete the files i tried manually to delete them then i tried in safe mode too. thanks.
