Help. I'm exhausting my ideas. In myDVD, for the movie I'm adding one that has been created in videowave. I believe I've updated DirectX (thanks for link) and video drivers NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200. I've set in the Performance & Quality "tab" Image setting = performance, and Antialising settings to application control, Anisotropic filter is off (other choices are 2x, 4x, 8x). I've tried saving myDVD with: fit to disk, standard play and High. All result in the same distortion in movie when 'fast' motion or striped shirts (Which is not a good thing as the movie is highlights of rugby season). Think of it as 'jagged edges' that distort horizontally.
I'm looking forward to great words of wisdoms on what I need to do to correct this.
(no transitions on videowave - just a lot of scenes. Looks fine in videowave, missing the normally 'crisper' result that happens with myDVD. XP operating system)
Thanks! Sue

What you are describing is usually the results of viewing an interlaced video on a non-interlaced device like your monitor. Some users swear that setting the project to progressive gets rid of it. The 'jaggies' should not be visible when played back on a regular TV set, but may be visible on newer HDTV when set to progressive.

I tried your idea - got the exact same results - jagged edges everywhere. I was so frustrated I uninstall 9.0 and reinstalled 8.0. I had some rework I needed to do in video wave (but whats 7-8 hours more?). For some bizarre reason - I lost the menu capability in myDVD in 8.0 - but the resulting video was crisp and fantastic. I've got some updates for nvidia driver and I'm bravely venturing back up to 9.0 - wish me luck!

As well as updating the drivers, don't forget to download and install the latest DirectX 9.0c from Microsoft

Downloading DirectX, windows media, etc were the very first things I did. I learned that lesson back with EMC 8 - but thanks for ensuring I knew.
Hmmmm the Eagles...well, everyone seems to do better than the Lion :-( Go Pistons!

I suppose I should point out for the benefit of those who don't know: the rugby World Cup starts in September and 'the Eagles' are the US national team

We need more information. How do you have MyDVD project set? Where did you get the source file? Is it DV AVI or MPEG?One lesson to learn.... when shooting and panning the camcorder, GO SLOW. You CAN NOT avoid all jaggies when panning the camcorder really fast. Just a fact.
