Looking at the Media Manager views there are several options for sorting, name, album, size, date, etc. There is even an option for "Custom Sort". The Custom Sort does not seem to do anything and I want to sort by Track Number. The field called Track is actually the song title. The field called Name is actually the Artist.

Suggestions?

Couldn't agree more with dgwood I've just upgraded to version 8 and can't believe how much less user friendly it is than 6. I mainly use it for organising and playing my MP3 files, but it's so difficult to navigate, I've reloaded my version 6, which had AudioCentral, which was great. Whereas with version 6, I could see about 35 songs on a page, and go straight to the song I want to hear by typing the first 2-3 letters of the song to go straight to it, this functionality seems to have been lost on version 8, seems to only recognise the first letter. I only get 13 songs per page with version 8 which is way too few, because this useless icon seems to take up so much vertical space in the artist name field. In version 6, I could choose which fields I wanted to show from a reasonably large range, but that seems to hae been lost too. Finally the biggest problem, when I double click on the song to play it, I can't adjust the volume and I can't do anyhting else in Roxio while the song plays (like look for the next song I want to listen to), and, a final thing, all those pretty patterns that used to show on the left side (that my kids like) have gone too.

Have I missed something that gives me all those things I used to have with version 6 or have I just wasted a load of money on a pointless upgrade? :)

I couldn't agree more with dgwood and pauldavid. Version 8.0 is more difficult to navigate, less user-intuitive, and less functional than its predecessor. When I import audio files from my hard drive to be burned to a music disk, version 8 doesn't even read the track information which is already stored in the files, nor does it import them in the order in which they are stored in my computer folder (which is by track number.) ALL of that was possible in good old version 6. The ONLY reason I "upgraded" was I got tired of constantly being reminded that there were updates available to version 6 but when I would click on the link to install them, the install wouldn't download and when I would manually download them and try to install the updates, I kept getting messages that no qualified products could be found on my computer. WTF???

At this point, I'm ready to chunk it all and try a different vendor's program.

hello, I just started using the Roxio systems for my files (mostly photos)! Why don't I read any info from Roxio techs on this site, which show that Roxio may care what the customers think.
