As you can see, I have started a new topic because I did not know where this fit. I got this software with my new dell XPS 1210 laptop. I have never been able to burn DVDs.

I can use DLA to copy files over to the DVD and even see them after copy. When I use the "Make compatible" feature ot make it compatible to read on any drive, it goes thorugh the process as if it is doing it, right up to where it ejects the disc. When I put it back in to read it there is nothing there!

Dell support has no clue what to do. No one there knows if I need any updates. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the app. I also tried it without DLA as a Creator project and it looks like everything is going fine, but same end result.

So far, all I have to show is 4 or 5 wasted discs and over 8 hours of wasted time, not to mention that I cannot back up my data. HELP!!!

I doubt you are actually using DLA but rather Drag to Disc???

In either case, both are packet writers and no packet writer is reliable enough to be used for "backups"!

You will be far better off using Classic with Sessions. To use Sessions, after you click Burn, clear the checkmark by Read Only and you will be able to add files to the disc at later times.

If you want to ignore the warnings about packet writers, I have a post about D2D, here.
