Hi I'm using MyDVD 9 and my preview file is in sync but my burn isn't.  I am running on a Gateway laptop with an ATI Radeon Xpress 1150 graphics card.  Thank you so much for any help.

This is a known issue. There is a work around that can be found Here

Based on my own experience, if I do no editing and I work with mpg files that do not have to be encoded or re-rendered with MyDvd, everything is in sync.

It seems that if the video files need to be rendered/encoded within MyDvd prior to a burn, all hell breaks loose.

There have been lots of theory's as to what is actually going wrong but I have not been able to figure out EXACTLY what the cause is to make any recommendations.

Thank you.  I created the mpeg and .wav files by encoding with Adobe Premier's encoder.  Now how do I combine those (put the video and audio back together) files for MyDVD 9 to burn them as a video with sound?  I will work on figuring this out on my own as well.  I have never edited anything in MyDVD 9.. is that what I have to do? Open an editor in MyDVD and drop the video and audio onto a timeline and then somehow add that to my DVD creation project?  Sorry I'm new at this.

Everything was in sync until the final burn. When I watch the burnt dvd it is out of sync.  Apparently this is a known issue?  It was recommended so far that I render as an mpg before I enter MyDVD 9 because if anything is rendered in the Roxio software "all hell breaks loose".  So i did.. in Adobe Premier... and I find separate video and audio files rendered so now I have to put them back together somehow in MyDVD 9?  But.. if I try to "add movie" the MyDVD browser doesn't display these files for import like they aren't "media files" even though I have it set to display all media types in the little browser and I know I'm looking in the right folder.  I'm sorry if I need babied along but I need to learn this.  Should I just look for software that works properly?  I spent $70 on MyDVD 9 already.  If anyone has the time.. please help. Thanks in advance.

A sync issue in the final burn is caused mostly by the hardware not being able to keep up with encoding and burning at the same time.  There is an issue with some people and not all but I have never heard of all "hell breaking loose".  Go back to the original file, put that in MyDVD and then select to output to an ISO file.  De-select all other options.  Name and put a location for that file.  When it is completed, use Disc Copier to copy that ISO file to a disc.  That process separates the encoding from the burning so the computer only does one thing at a time.  By the way, you can preview that file in disc copier to see if you have the sync issue there.

Do you have only the DVD 9 or do you have EMC 9 where you have VideoWave - that is unclear?   If you have Video Wave, you can output the project to a mpg2 for DVD, best quality.  You can then add that file to MyDVD.  It is still best practices to make the ISO file.  Since the mpg2 files is already encoded it will not be re-encoded again and creating the file will go quickly.
Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.
