Hi,
When I open Roxio Media Creator 9, I get a message saying "This action cannot be completed becuase the "Windows Installer" program is not responding. Choose "Switch To" and correct the problem."
A few minutes later, I get a message saying "Please wait while Windows configures DAO" followed by a message saying "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable" which asks for the location of DAO.msi and then another saying "Error 1706. No valid source code can be found for the product DAO. The Windows installer cannot continue".
I am not able to use the program because of this.
I've done some research online and it appears the problem may be caused by a conflict with my ATI Nvidia GeForce4 4600 graphics card.
Plesase could someone suggest how I can fix the problem?
Thanks,
Anthony

I just found a workaround, when the message comes up, just hit cancel. It comes up three times before going away and letting me work. It also comes up when switching from the 'home' menu to another application in the suite.
I don't know if you only need to do it once or every time. Once I was able to get in. I shut the program don and came here to look for a solution.
(This takes me one step closer to reformatting the HD, installing Linux, and using only open source software. The open source stuff isn't more stable than the commercial products, but you're at least not paying to be someone else's bug spotter.)

Hi,
Thanks for the replies. What I did in the end was go into 'Add or Remove Programs' and uninstall DOA (which was originally installed with my ATI software) and now it seems to be working OK.

Hi, This link http://support.ati.com/ics/support/default...uestionID=25639 worked for me... I no longer get DAO configure error... below is the solution from that page...
Solution:
To resolve this issue, open the run prompt (start>run) and type the following:
regsvr32 /u "c:\program files\common files\microsoft shared\dao\dao360.dll"
Click OK
Open the run prompt again and type the following:
regsvr32 "c:\program files\common files\microsoft shared\dao\dao360.dll"
Click OK
