I have used Roxio to convert one of my LPs to cd. This was the start of a major project to put all of my LPs on CD. That process worked just fine. However, while I was doing this I recorded the B side before the A side. Not a big deal but I decided to copy the file to a new CD in the proper order. Problem: The music is on my hard drive but when I try to burn a new CD I get the message that the file cannot be copied. I notice that the format is MPEG. I thought I opted for MP3.
So, any help? Thanks, Jack

I take it you used the LP and Tape Assistant.Did you go to Advanced options on screen 1 and choose .mp3 under file format? If you did then you should have a file that has a .mp3 extension.
How are you tryng to burn he cd?With what app are you doing this?
A better choice to make would have been .wav for the file format. That way you wouldn't get a compressed file.Either way if nothing else you should be able to take the files from your harddrive, open Music Disc Creator, choose Audio CD for the project type and add the files.

I have been doing this for a couple of years now. I have a Main Directory on my HD called Music and within that directory I have several sub directoris, labeled as Rock, Country, etc etc and within each of those sub directories I have directories labeled by artist. I then copy my LPs into the proper directory. for instance Allman Brothers would be under Music\rock\allman brothers and when I use Roxio to dub onto CD or DVD I select the songs I want and and I add a 4 second fade over and make sure all is normalized. I also use the Sound Editor to trim the DEAD SPACE off of each intro and outro of the songs so I am not tying up mega bytes for silence.
I also agree with tbrewst and I use only PCM WAV and NEVER MP3. If you are going thru the labor of trying to preserve your LPs then do it in the most accurate means and not in a compressed mode. You will be glad you did. If you do NOT have a trained or critical ear then do it in MP3.
Oh! I also have a thrid Hard drive where I keep a back up copy of my second hard drive and all of the music, just in case I do not lose all of my hours and hours of work.
