I'm new to ROXIO, so please bear with me. I have a movie image on my hard drive which I'm trying to burn to a blank dvd, but get the following message:

I tried Roxio kept ejecting my blank DVD+R disks and asking...

"Please insert a blank or rewritable CD into the HL-DT-ST DVDRW DL (D:) drive
Supported media: CD-R, CD-RW, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+RW, DVD+R DL, DVD RAM"

Lower left section of the "Burn image to disk" window indicated a blank DVD-R disk. After being frustrated with trying a few disks I tried a different set of blank discs, this time -R, with the same result. I have used both of these before with NERO and they worked fine. NERO, however, has started to fail when writing to disc, that's why I'm trying ROXIO. I did not use ROXIO to download the movie to disc, but another vendor.

Any suggestions? Thanks

Let's see, Nero won't burn and neither will Roxio. Hmm, see any similarity. unsure.gif Different discs. I'm guessing that your burner is going bad. Try blowing out the interior with canned dry air. Cover your eyes. If that doesn't work, you can see if you can update the firmware for that drive but I think you should start looking at what is on sale.

Yeah, that's where I was headed next, but I wanted to see if anyone had any other thoughts. Thanks.

Try using Disc Copier from the Start menu instead of "Burn image" from the Home app and see if there's any difference. For the source use Browse and go to your image file.
