I have been running RecordNow 6.7.0 on a Win/XP Home SP2 machine with a Samsung SC-148A CD/DVR reader/writer for over a year creating DVDs with no problems used to backup my data files weekly.

This weekend when starting RecordNow I got an error message immediately:

"No compatible Recordable or Rewritable devices could be found on your system."

I am able to read DVD's with no problem. The only recent change was upgrading to Office 2007 Professional since the last use of RecordNow.

And advice would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Do a bit of searching.  This problem can probably be fixed with a reinstall of either office, or of both.

I'd suggest that if you reinstall both, you install office second first, because installing office second corrupted EMC 9.

Sounds like a plan except that I don't have the install program for RecordNow. It was preinstalled on my PC when purchased and the only way to get it back is to reload my whole system.

Contact your PC manufacturer.  They can get you the install CD.
