I recently installed EMC Suite 9 on my new HP Pavilion a6077c with Vista OS. When I try to capture audio either by Easy Audio Capture or in Sound Editor I do not have a wav file option.

Only : Custom, MP3 (good, high mat or low quality) settings.

How can I capture audio as a wav file?

On my old HP I used Roxio 7.5 and had no trouble capturing audio from the internet as wav files.

Thanks

Have you actually tried to save anything as an mp3?The reason I ask is if you can you'll be one of the few people that have been on here and been able to do that.
If not then it could be because you don't have an input that will work. This is really a Vista problem and not a Roxio problem. The program can only use the inputs that are available and in Vista this is a major problem with sound.
If you can capture as an mp3 then you should be able to capture as a wav file. What version do you have?Is it 9.0 or is it 9.1?If it's 9.0 then this could be the problem. It's not really Vista compatible. There will be a patch coming for that.

I have Version 9.0.088. The box says compatible with Vista!

When I try to capture mp3 I get "file does not exist or is not a supported audio file. So I can record nothing with EMC 9.

Not sure why you would get a message you usually get when you try and edit something or add a file to a project. You're trying to create a file and that's a message you would get if trying to work with an existing file.
If you go into Easy Audio Capture, click the dropdown next to Capture Settings all you get is MP3?If you choose custom and the box pops up and you go to File Format can you choose wav?You also don't get a choice of wma?

Capture choices are custom or mp3
My only capture setting options for format  are custom, .aac, .ac3, .m4a or .ma3.

I think these file types are for Itunes. I had Itunes on the machine when I installed the EMC Suite 9. I have since then deleted ITUNES and deleted EMC Suite 9 and only re-installed EMC Suite 9. I still have the same problem.

Thanks
