I've tried and tried, but this isn't obvious to me. How do I get two separate VIDEO_TS files onto one DVD? Shouldn't this be easy?

Depends on your definition of easy.

You first must use the Toast Media Browser to extract the MPEG videos from the VIDEO_TS folders, and then you can burn the new DVD using those extracted MPEGs.

If the VIDEO_TS folders are on your hard drive place one on the desktop. Open Toast and select DVD Video as the Format for the Video window. Click the Media button to enter the Media Browser. Choose DVD with the top button. When the video shows up in the lower window use the bottom button to go to the title level. Drag the titles you want from the lower window to the Video window. Toast extracts and writes the MPEGs to the Roxio Converted Items folder.

When you finished with the first VIDEO_TS, remove it from the desktop and place the second one on the desktop. Follow the above steps again.

Now you're ready to finish preparing your DVD so you can click the burn button. If the multiple videos exceed what can fit on a single-layer disc (and you don't want to use dual-layer media) you can choose Save as Disc Image from the File menu. When that is finished select the disc image using the Image File setting in the Copy window. Toast now will requantize the video so it can be burned to a single-layer DVD.
I'm just a fellow Toast-user so please don't blame Roxio for any misguidance I may provide. And do let me know if your issue gets solved. Cheers from Eugene, Oregon!

Thanks so much for getting back to me so quickly with this information. Well, I did it, and it was quite a production, but ultimately quite simple. Is this detailed in documentation anywhere, or is learning to do this kind of thing a trial and error game? I NEVER would have guessed this sequence of steps. I couldn't even find my file in in the Media area, as I didn't know you had to move it to the desktop temporarily.
Anyway, thanks again!
