When I try to select files to copy to a DVD using Disc Copier I get the following message:

Runtime Error!

Program: ..s\Roxio\Easy Media Creator 7\DIsc Copier\DiscCopier7.exe

THis application has requested the Runtime to terminate it an unusual way.
Please contact the application's support team for more information.

I have been using this product for years and just started getting this constant error.

Anybody have any ideas, I have run spyware detections and found nothing?

If you have allowed Microsoft Auto-Update to download Internet Explorer 7, or WinPlayer 11, you need to rollback to IE 6 and WinPlayer 11. Those programs change the operating system in a way that "breaks" EMC 7 (and 8) and a lot of other software.

When that is done, turn off Auto-update.

I have been running Internet Explorer for many months without problems, I should not have to roll back to IE 6. I am also not not running WinPlayer 11. It you upgrade to the latest version of Easy Media Creator would you still have problems with IE7 and WinPlayer 11?

IE7 and WMP11 DO wreck EMC 7, 8 and are also reported as causing problems in EMC9.

They are both Vista apps that Microsoft decided to backport to XP and they both made changes to the OS kernel which has caused a lot of programs to fail.

The only cure is to get rid of them and if you really prefer a tabbed browser, download and install Firefox (which is the browser of choice for most of the regular users here)
If it ain't broke, fiddle with it until it breaks, then fiddle with it until you get it fixed
