Received 'upgraded EMC9' w/dazzle interface and EMC9 in the mail today. Install went fine. I connected the Dazzle DVC90 device & pointed the video to be saved to a external WD My Book drive connected via USB. I have had that drive for 6 months with no problems.

After a few minutes I receive a Windows error: "Delayed Write Failed".
Started over and pointed to my HP C drive. Same message.

Googled the error and located a Microsoft message indicating possible solution of changing the "Enable write caching on the disk" option.

Both the HP C  drive & WD drive have Caching ON. Just not familiar with this setting and do not want to arbitrarily change it. Any thoughts?

Although the DVC90 is bundled with EMC, it's a Pinnacle device and they supply the support for it.

You didn't say what OS you are usiong, but if it's Vista, you will have to go to Pinnacle for Vista drivers (the ones in EMC are for XP - the Vista ones weren't released by Pinnacle for some time after)
If it ain't broke, fiddle with it until it breaks, then fiddle with it until you get it fixed

When you write to the hard drive the caching enables the operation to go faster. You should be able to turn it off without causing a major problem. What you may notice, maybe not, is that your machine slows down.Take a look at this for a pretty good explanation. You can always turn it back on if it still doesn't work or the performance hit is too much to take.

I turned the setting 'off' on my C drive & captured about 5 minutes of video w/o a problem! I'll try it on my external Western Digital drive later in the week - Thanks.
