HI, I am new with the roxio program and was wondering if anyone had a solution to this problem....?   I have captured video from my camcorder throught a dazzel connection and had saved it to "my documents".  I created a movie project through video wave which contains transitions, music, text credits, and a picture, then had sent to My DVD to set up a Menu with music and chapter names, the length of this movie is 2 hours 18 Min.  When I go to output the video file the render screen comes up and the video starts to encode, after about 3-4 seconds the preview will dissapear and a gray mpeg preview screen pops up with the video still encoding.  Right before the video would then be changing to the second chapter (8 min into the process, right at the last frame before the transition effect) the encoding stops!  I checked to see if the program was still running in the task manager, and it was, there was no error screen or anything it just stopped.  I have tried this several times and have left it for a long time and nothing.  I have tried on both software and hardware render, also shutting down all start up programs, rebooting, updating video cards, drivers, software ect.  I have tried to output as a test 2 short video files, one 15 min and the other 2 min, with transistions I was able to encode them with no problems!  Is this a time (length) issue?  I currently am running on a Gateway E-4000, Windows XP Service Pack 2, 1.25GB of Ram, a navidia 7300 geforce gt video card with 512 MB, updated direct x 9.0 software, ect... I checked to see if I would be compatible with roxio 9 and per the list in the user guide, I am!  I have called Roxio 5 times and have been unsucessful in fixing this problem, can someone please help me with this?  Thank You!

Usually indicates a video card or driver problem.  Make sure you have the latest DirectX and the latest drivers from nVidia.  I have a Geforce 7300 GS and don't have problems.

BTW, seeing the gray preview is a good thing.  That means that MyDVD is NOT re-encoding that part of the video.

Have you tried the graphics test? Tools/Options - does the dot stay on hardware or software?  It 'should' stay on hardware. Mine does. If something is wrong, it may not.

If you aren't using any 3D transition or effects, you can force it to software and see if the render completes.

It may sound strange, but go back to edit the movie and that last frame where it stops, adjust it by one more frame. Then try again.

I split up the movie into two discs.  The first one is 1 hour 1/2, and the second is 49min, and the 49 min disc copied but not the first didn't.  So, I was thinking the same thing that time could be an issue??????    Roxio had told me that time shouldn't matter though.  You should still be able to output the video file no matter how long it is, i would think.
