On the home tab, on the welcome screen, in order to access additional features, at the bottom of the
screen it says, " click here to retry your internet connection ". When I click I get an error that roxio has
encountered a problem and needs to close. There is a back arrow to click and then it says " Server Error /
Application ". I cannot access any feature from the welcome screen. And it is the same with XP and Vista.
Does any one know what the problem is. I disabled security so it isn't a firewall.

PS. Below is a copy of the error message I get.

This has already been reported and many of us are getting the same error. I can only assume it's something to do with the Roxio servers but I've seen no reports on the main page about it.

I would vote that it is "temporarily unavailable". As for not being able to access anything from the home menu, why not just run the programs you want directly? Its faster and the programs may be more stable this way as well.

To run the programs directly, go to Start > All Programs > Roxio Easy Media Creator 9 > [Pick your catagory] > [Pick your program].

We had some problems but they should be fixed now. If you still have an issue, try clearing your browser cache and see if that helps.

If you still have an issue after that, post again here and let me know so I can look into it further.

Over the past few days, when I clicked on retry your internet connection, Roxio home crashed, the event viewer logs were

Today it is not crashing, but still failing to connect. There was an IE 7 security update today, which may have corrected the crash (or maybe it was irrelevant, but version of mshtml.dll is now 7.0.6000.16481, so that was changed by the update). Tried with both ZA free firewall on and off (in that case using Windows firewall). In all attempts, first cleared internet cache.

In the past, occasionally on opening Roxio home it would connect straight away, or if not, then it did when I clicked retry your connection.

I didn't get the crash Jean - just the blurb and 'Click here to retry your internet connection' - err, I was actually online here so I know it works laugh.gif

Oh and I did clear the cache first
