Hi I have just bought Roxio Easy Media Creator 9 yesterday and deleted my old Roxio Easy Media Creator 8 that was working with no problems.

But I have big problems with the new one :-(

I open MyDVD 9 and place a movie in the menu. I test it with Preview and it's working fine.

Now comes the problem :-(

I try to burn but it will not encoding the movie it just stand still on 0 %. I have never have this problem with creator 8.

Can anybody help me ?

Hi Pomse, try this, go into control pannel and then add & remove programes, and find roxio app in the list, try a repair install on the selection of the roxio product,
also make sure you have up to date Directx and video drivers for your system, these all seem to help...allso try this
http://patches.sonic.com/PX/pxengine1_08_34a.exe
then restart the pc and see if this helps...
good luck

I have also tried the patch you recommended and updated directx now. But that did not help :-(

It's like the program freezes, when I try to cancel the encoding. I will not stop, when I close the program down and try to get the dvd out of the drive then it will not open before I restart the computer :-(

Help, help, help please

Have you tried software rendering?
In Videowave/MyDVD go to Tools > Options. If Hardware is selected as the renderer please select Software and hit ok. See if that helps and get back to us.

0% progress when outputting video files (either in MyDVD or VideoWave) is solved by updateing your video adapter drivers to the current ones, or reinstalling them if you already have the current ones. Make sure to follow the driver installation instructions on the video manufacturer site.

Yes - go to nVidia or ATI (depending on the card) and download and install the latest drivers

Great - you also should install the latest DirectX 9.0c from Microsoft (the June version is now available)

Do as suggested to him - go to ATI or nVidia website (or whoever your video driver is made by) andf download and install the latest drivers

Are you saying that you went to ATI or Nvidia's site and installed (per their instructions) the latest driver for your video card? If not, what did you do to check it? Run Windows Updates (which will not update it to the latest or correctly for some cards)? Just compare the version you had installed to determine it was "the most current"?

What video card do you actually have? What are your other system specs?

Stateing simply "I have tried everything" provides no real information on what you have actually tried so someone can make suggestions that aren't just general in nature.

Help -
I have same/similar problem as pomse - EMC 9 myDVD . I was previously able to burn project to DVD. Now when I edit the project and try to burn it to disc, I get the hourglass for about 1 second, and then back to arrow pointer and nothing happens. When I go to task mgr, get not responding. I can end task, but cannot completely restart my computer except by using the on/off button (gets to 'windows is shutting down' and hangs)

I have a dell latitude 620 laptop with Intel 845GM chipset integrated graphics card. Downloaded the drivers from Intel, but errored out installing them - message said they were not authorized to my computer. Reinstalled the driver from Dell CD. Interestingly this fixed a minor problem with the way the default project dvd menu picture displayed on my computer, but did not fix the burning issue.

I also tried disabling the services in my system tray - couldn't even start the app.

I tried repairing the installation.

I tried installing the sonic patch that one of the posts suggested. Even more interestingly this caused the minor display issue on the default project menu graphic to return, but didn't have any other affect.

I hope I've included everything -
I appreciate any and all assistance. I would sure love to be able to get this video of my son's rugby team updated to show at the team party!

"Intel 845GM chipset integrated graphics card"

That is almost certain to be the problem - EMC9 requires very heavy use of the graphics and that chipset is probably not man enough to do thew job

In the meantime, did you update DirectX 9.0c from Microsoft?

You could also try software rendering - when you open MyDVD, go to Tools, Options and at the start change 'Render using' hardware to software and see if that works

I did try the software rendering, but have not tried the Directx update yet - and will try that.

When you say 'that is probably the problem' do you mean that I may have damaged the hardware? It did work several times before it stopped working. I even tried with a smaller file size, and that doesn't work either.
