I have a PAID copy of RecordNow9 but everytime I try to open the program, I get the "trial expired" error. I have re-installed a few times w/ the same result. I have tried countless times to register the software on the Roxio site but keep getting an "invalid cd key" message. I have written to support and the response back was generic BS telling me to register an account w/ Roxio and then register the product. #1: I have an "account" on Roxio. #2: I CAN'T register this thing.....that's the whole point.
Can anyone help me with this?
Thanks.

I know that there are others out there with exactly the same problem.
Overall this looks like a good product, but apparrently Roxio/Sonic doesn't want us to use it, go figure.
Not a good way to respond to clients.
Does anyone have a suggestion!

From the EMC9 forum, it seems like trial expired error is caused by reg cleaner (something like Norton One Button Checkup in Systemworks) removing some reg entry required by Roxio software. The suggestion in EMC9 forum was to do a clean install then make sure your reg cleaner doesn't remove Roxio entries (put it in exclude list or something like that.) worth a try. Also, not that it makes much different but I think the tech support opens from 11-6, not 9-5. You can also try to submit a webticket. also worth a try.

I submitted a "webticket" and FINALLY got a real answer after many "you don't have to be registered" responses which were completely useless and did not answer my question at all. Anyway, I was given this link for a repair and it did actually work. Yay!

Hope this works for you as well.

AFter reinstall I guess I will have to make sure that registry entry is not modified/deleted by Norton One Button Checkup.
What does the zip file do? Is it just unzipped to fix the problem?

Hi All:
Thanks for getting an answer to this question. I was in exactly this position, and the patch works wonders.

The zip file contains an executable, repairer.exe.
When run this program will ask you for your CD key, and then repair the registry key which is broken by some registry cleaners such as Norton's OBC and even Regseeker (when run twice).
It doesn't stop the key from being broken again next time you use the cleaner, and it doesn't restore actual trial versions of software.
Regards,
Brendon
