Hi,

I have tried to render a 2.5 minute mpeg file as a "generic mpeg-1 small size" for "playback on another pc".  After 1.5 hours nothing has happened.  I checked if  Videowave was still running and it appeared so. Does anyone have any suggestions.  The original mpeg is 85MB.  My PC has the following spec:

AMD Athlon 64 x 2 Dual Core 5000 processor
Seagate 160 GB 7200 RPM Barracuda (St3160812AS)
Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2

Do you mean the progress sits at 0% ?
If so, update the drivers for you video card from the card mfgr site (i.e. Nvidia or ATI).

Don't have a lot of experience -- just learning the EMC9 apps -- but every time I've tried rendering something it either started working or didn't  [i.e. progress bar, %, hard drive light on heavy duty, CPU usage in TaskMgr showed Videowave active]. When it stalled or didn't start (which happened more than once), there was no other visual indication -- just the absence of one or more of the noted observations. When that happened I used TaskMgr to end Videowave & restarted the program.

Why would it die? As above I'm just learning, But, using templates I created, when settings were incompatible with the imported file, the render window would just sit there, 0 CPU usage, 0 progress.

Did you try what Larry suggested in post #2.

Thanks for the advis.  I have updated the driver and the rendering works perfectly.
