I just installed a seagate 32gb external harddrive and transferred all of my music files to it. Now when I go to burn in Creator Classic it will not burn songs that are stored on the external drive. It will allow me to populate the playlist and select to add songs to the session, but once the recording starts, its kicks the disc out and stops recording. I have used several different kinds of discs at different speeds. I use window xp operating system.

My first question is where did you get the audio files (music files) from ?? If the files are propritory, they might not burn. Second, have you tried to move all the files to your main "C" drive in some folder you have or could make, and then try and see if they will burn O.K. from there ??

Third---How large a production in Creator Classic are you trying to burn ? Make sure that the blank media disc is larger enough to hold the total burn. (At the bottom of the creator classic screen there is a small box optrion where you can change the type of disc you have as far as total memory. (i.e. 700Mb, 4.7Gb etc.)

The files are songs burned from Cd and stored on my C drive. They will burn fine from the C drive in Classic. I moved them to the external drive and then tried to burn them and they would not. I know the disc has the capacity for the amount I am trying to burn. The most recent failure was 58 minutes of music onto an 80 minute disc.

Thanks for the help. If you have any suggestions, please advise.

If you are trying to make an audio cd then why are you using Creator Classic. That function has been moved to Music Disc Creator.Try using that instead.

One thing to try might be looking in the Project Settings and unchecking "enable MPV' and "enable HighMAT".
