I've seen reviews on the web saying it's impossible to copy and/or edit movies recorded on this camcorder. I've also seen posts in various places saying it IS possible to convert and edit these movies .. something about VRO format. Also saw a review of the Canon DC40 that said it shipped with Sonic MyDVD which, once upgraded, worked great. Will this work for my camcorder movies as well?

The manual says to record in 'video' format in order to play the movies back on most DVD players (TV and PC). The camcorder records on the mini dvds, but am sure you all know this.

I don't need to do anything fancy. I'd like to be able to connect the little segments of video it creates every time I start and stop recording into one short movie. Would also like to be able to combine photos or audio with the movie segments in one 'movie'. I don't want to do the editing in the camcorder.

Any software suggestions would be greatly appreciated as well as whatever 'how to' info someone familiar with this type of recording and the software can offer.

thanks in advance!

I should have added that the camcorder can record in widescreen format. Whatever software app you suggest would need to be able to handle that as well.

Thanks again in advance for any input you gurus can suggest.
