blurry dvd results

thanks for any help you can give    
i'm trying to burn a dvd slideshow  i'm starting with high resolution photos  and the result finishes with a low resolution (looks like crap) dvd when played on a television looks fuzzy    i know the tv has a low resolution but other dvd's i have made (on a computer i very recently replaced) looked much better  am i missing a adjustment somewhere  i set the burn for high quality and am only using about 30% of the disk   timberwoof

Go to tools->Project Settings.  Check that the settings there are as they should be.

If you play back the slideshow on your computer, does it still "look like crap"?

There aer two way to create a slide show: Convert to video DVD or use the DVD player's ability to show JPGs.  There are advantages and disadvantages to both. Converting to video DVD gives you flexibility with transitions, overly , text, etc., but is lower resolution and quality depends on the total length.  Anything over one hour and the video must be compressed even more.  

Using the DVD player's built-in ability gives you the best quality, but then there are no transitions, text or overlays.
