Getting my video to imovie once dvd is copied to hard drive-how do I get it to imovie

I just got Popcorn 2 specifically so I could take things from dvds and edit them in imovie. I just copied the video onto my hard drive, but don't know how to get it into imovie so I can edit it into another movie. How do you do this? Please help. The getting started guide is very sparse.

iMovie will import files exported in MPEG4 format. So choose the Player tab and then select your VIDEO_TS folder. You can click Options to choose specific titles to export. Next click the Red button and then choose MPEG-4 in the window that appears. The conversion takes awhile.
