I realize that he is an infrequent visitor, just hoping to catch him. If I was him, I'd make the visits fewer and fewer, as I would be a shamed of the company I worked for. After all it was him who cornered the SOON phrase. Don’t believe I’ll ever hear the word again without feeling anger, and thinking of him.

No, soon is like, um, not yet.

Oh, and I received confirmation that it's now "pretty soon." Before, I guess, it was "kind of soon."

I hope everyone appreciates my sense of humor. I feel like the messenger in 300. Thank the man upstairs this isn't SPARTA!

I think I can speak for all that visits these forums and say your sense of humor is appreciated and no one is faulting you for the "soon" statement, you can pass on only what you are told.

I visit these forums on a daily basis (no one needs to suggest I get a life) and what I am seeing is a very valuable commodity, the customers even those not experiencing problems, becoming very frustrated over this entire matter. The customers are wanting to use EMC, even many of those that are having problems are still wanting to get it to work properly so they can use it. Yes, there have been some very derogatory statements made about issues by some. But on the other hand there seems to be just as many that are having problems that are willing to wait for the patch/upgrade, hoping it may fix their problems so they can use the product. To me this indicates the quality of the product, i.e., users with problems have been patient waiting on the patch/update in order to be able to use the product - this would indicate it is indeed a good product to earn this level of customer support. But it appears Roxio has chosen to simply turn its back on these people.

I am one of the lucky ones, I have not experienced any problems with EMC 9 yet, though I have not used all of its features (maybe I could use all of the features if I stayed away from these forums for a while, but they get addicitive). I cannot say the same about EMC 8 where I did experience problems but found solutions in these forums - that is what led to the addiction.

You got that right about a new CD and no doubt EMC 10 will be just around the corner!! Meanwhile, I encourage other users here to get creative! In other words, if you are having problems with EMC 9.0, try contacting Roxio sales between 11am and 6pm PST and see if you can get them to ship you EMC 9.1 for a shipping and handling fee. However, keep in mind, even if this works, you will have to send them some sort of proof of purchase such as the e-mail confirmation that was sent to you by Roxio when you registered EMC 9.0.

It's too bad that Roxio never offered a full blown download of EMC 9.1 off their web site by allowing existing EMC 9.0 users to insert their qualifying media as validation. Some software vendors also simply allow customers (licensed for a specific product) to just download the latest build (with the licensed product line) and then insert their product key. It seems none of these options (or others) were ever discussed on these forums.....only the complexities of trying to build a patch when we all know the full blown version of 9.1 already exists!

It seems this patch issue has gone on for a long time and most licensed users of EMC 9.0 would rather have a full version of 9.1 anyway. I wished I could promise it will work for everyone but it may depend on who you speak with and exactly what your circumstances are. I am not affiliated with Roxio in ANY way. I have just felt the frustration of others and trying to help here.

These boards are reviewed more than you might think. In any event, it sounds like EMC 9.0 may be working just fine for you so no need to upgrade smile.gif
