ok so i had some videos that were originally avi format, i used a converter program i have (ultra avi converter) to change these to dvd format and then created a dvd with these files using EMC. everything went smooth up until i put the disc into my home dvd player. the title menu works fine and the movie plays but the audio seems to be a second or two ahead of the video, almost like watching a dubbed foreign film. any ideas as to why this is happening and what i can do to fix this?

For a start there was no need to use an external program first - EMC does the conversion itself provided the required codecs are there

There are a number of things that cause the out of sync problem - a fragmented hard drive is about the most common. Also, run a spyware sweep and shut down any running apps while it renders
If it ain't broke, fiddle with it until it breaks, then fiddle with it until you get it fixed
