While I can't argue about how you feel, the BBB won't get you far except to maybe make you feel better. The product does work for me and others in Vista as has been confirmed here and it's impossible to show that compatibility has not been met. I'm no psychic but I can also say that even when 9.1 is released, they'll be problems in Vista as well as XP. That's to be expected-----not liked but expected.

There are so many users out there with a computer that is totally different than someone elses, that it is really hard to figure out why EMC will work on one computer and not another. BUT, my guess is that there are way more users out there that have EMC working O.K. than there are ones that are are not.

I too believed that the BBB would not be helpful, however ROXIO already acknowledged that there are problems when they annouced the patch. I do already feel better, and if it cost ROXIO even one sale, and one less anger customer, then I have succeeded. Waiting for the patch has left me with lots of free time, and I have been warning buyers at every review I can find.

If Version 9 is Vista compatible, why are so many people waiting for the patch and more to the point, why are Roxio bringing a patch out?
I thought the whole point of the patch was to make Version 9 Vista compatible, if it won't make any difference then what on earth is it supposed to do?
I'm hoping that it will get my audio sync sorted as it gets a bit hit and miss at the moment, the sync is perfect when the video is converted to mpg but gets a bit dodgy when burnt to disk. Altering burn speed etc. can make it considerably worse, but I can't get it better than the default "fastest".
By the way it doesn't matter with the "fit to disk" what the quality is, "best quality" can give just as bad results as "SP" or "LP".

Are you telling us that Version 9.1 has no fixes but just a seal of approval. With no changes it still takes Roxio months to create a patch? Shame on you, shame on them. Because you and your company does not care does not mean that the BBB does not. Given your customer support attitude, you fit well with the company.

The more that I think about your attitude (response) John, the more angry I get. I bet you if we are still around when the patch does finally come out, we will see that a large amount of product change was required to even met Microsoft's low standards. I believe this will show what we had sold to us was not production ready, and that your knowlede is limited. What exactly is your job at ROXIO? I know is isn't customer relations.

Bob,
Just between us - from my experience - going back as far as version 3 . . .
Although Roxio can be incredibly frustrating at times with the software "flaws" that seem to sneak into production releases - John has proven to be very knowledgeable, helpful and customer oriented. Take his question seriously - tell him exactly what problems you are experiencing - he, or someone else in these forums, may surprise you - pleasantly - with some help. If he doesn't know the answer or cannot help, I expect he will tell you honestly and politely, assuming you are speaking in the same manner and tone. I understand you find this all very frustrating, but beating on the folks who come into the forums to try to assist (whether users like most of us or Roxio staff like John) won't help anything.

I for one can say that I completely understand Bob's frustration. Some of you seem to have a different outlook on this and that's fine. I will be sending Bob a PM in my attempt to help him.

Well ...yes, obviously the MS seals of approval ("Compatible" or "Certified") ARE a big deal!
That's why companies have to prove that their products meet them ...and why they take pride in having earned them.
Obviously consumers rely heavily on this when making purchase decisions (the reason why Roxio feels it's important that it be able to say it's products meet the various MS standards)
If Roxio is pushing version 9.1 as being Vista "certified" then yes ...evidently Roxio thinks that "seal of approval from Microsoft" is a HUGE deal!!
John, while I empathize with the position you're in, and despite the fact that version 9 is working great for me on Vista, I too am surprised that you (as a Roxio representative,) would make a comment like that to customers.

You are right and I apologize for my behavior. I shall use my angered energy to seek a replacement solution. It is such a shame as I have always enjoyed the product.

This is my entire point. We will issue a patch. In the mean time, version 9 works fine in Vista, and that really is what matters from a support standpoint.
