Not sure how you are trying to open Videowave but you should open it either from your desktop Roxio Home Icon, or go to start--all programs and then roxio, then videowave.

Make all your slide shows in Videowave and after saving it as a dmsm file, then open up MYDVD and open your saved DMSM file there for continuing to make a DVD.

I have Roxio 9.0 suite and when trying to open "create a DVD" I also get a reinstall videowave software. I have done the clean install, I'm using a HP Pavillion dv9000 laptop.  At a loss for what to do, I can see the create a DVD software load and then quit. Appreciate any help someone might have.

I'm experiencing similar problems, and have noticed the same 'unable to load the configuration file, please re-install videowave' errors mentioned once in a while on this forum since March.  The first solution mentioned a microsoft patch, but I am unable to find that post in the forums now.

I also have an HP Pavilion with Vista.  It came with a trial versionof EMC (which seemed to work fine) which I removed before attempting installation of EMC9 Suite (several times).

Basically the installation for EMC9 completes, but programs associated with Videowave do not open, and result in the error I mentioned above, followed by a flash of the videowave screen which then closes back to the EMC startup menu.

I tried repairing EMC9 through the control panel, and it results in error 1904 failed to register for four files.
IS there a patch that can repair this error?

I had the same problem with Videowave saying it could not access the configuration file and closing back to the Home menu when I tired to launch edit video or MyDVD. Once I changed the Home icon to open as administrator then Videowave and MyDVD opened with no problems. I also changed the Videowave and MyDVD links on the start menu to open as administrator just in case I wanted to open them outside of the EMC Home menu. To change the links to open as administrator just right click the link and select properties. Then select the Advanced block under Shortcut and select run as administrator. Click OK and then select continue in the next two windows which gives the link administrative rights to launch. I also had to delete the information in the start in: window because the directory link did not exist. I just left it blank and it works just fine. That is my solution to the can't find configuration file problem for Videowave and it works for me so don't ask.
