I'm trying to edit video interviews in Videwave. When I select a particular video file (Digital 8 captured to a My Book 500 gb hard drive) and trim the clip for specific quote, I then play back and it's out of synch and/or the selection I trimmed is slightly different. When I go back to trim again, I see that the start and end points are exactly where I placed them. In the trim window, the clip plays back fine.

Not sure if the problem is related, but there's another glitch I've noticed on this project -- the Production Editor: Storyline view where all the numbered panels appear revealing thumbnails of your clips, stills, etc., contains many panels that are fuzzy/grainy. In some cases, I can't even tell what they are until I click on them and let them play in the window above.

I'm simultaneously editing other projects, using both clips and stills from multiple external My Book hard drives. For those, I don't have the problem I'm having with this project. Also, I've been using this software pretty regularly for months. About two months ago, I did a full check on my sound card and video card drivers. I was confident at that time that everything was completely upgraded and had no problem with the software.

Could there be a problem with the Digi 8 Video file I captured and I'm pulling from? Any other ideas?

I have just defragged my primary external drive where my Roxio project file lives and where a lot of stills and video for this project are located. It took about 15 hours to defrag, so I assume that needed to be done. Nevertheless, I' m still having the same problem.

This is my system:

Dell Dimension 4600i
Windows XP Home Edition
2.67 ghtz Intel Pentium 4
512 MB memory and recently added 1024 MB memory in third slot

NVIDIA GeForce FX 5200
Creative SB Audigy 2
