I have seen this error posted in EMC8 but it doesn't offer a real solution that seemingly works. I can picture files to a CD-R and it writes them with no problem. When I get done and there is around 50MB or more left and I go to close the disc and make it read only it will throw the error "Failed to prepare media for CD-ROM or DVD-ROM capability" I don't write all the files to the CDR at the same time so I have to leave the project open until the disc is ready to be finalized. I have tried 2 different external burners and gotten the same error with both. I have tried several UDF formats so that isn't the issue. Anyone else have any thoughts. Thanks

Correct about D2D, I have covered it here.
No real "fix" other than to use Classic with Sessions, which is far more reliable anyway! To write Sessions to a Data Disc, just do not check the Read Only box after you click Burn. Then you can add more files by importing the previous sessions.
With this method of burning, you don't really need to finalize the disc unless you want to do so as a Write Protect method. Once Read Only is checked the disc is closed and cannot be written to again.
