I just installed EMC9 and there are two readme.ENU files on the Program Install CD , Roxio Easy Media Creator 9 Suite and DLA32_52. I have searched the Roxio site and this forum, but am still confused. The DLA readme says that "DLA and Roxio's Drag-to-Disc perform similar functions and are incompatible." Were both installed and if so, is it necessary to uninstall one? A D2D icon was installed on the taskbar.

No, only Drag to Disc was installed. As was stated, the 2 can't be installed together. While it's technically possible to install both, you'd definitely have problems with both installed.
Actually, many of the regulars on this forum are not fans of any packet writing application and most just uninstall it. I do.

Like Beerman mentioned, most of us here don't use packet writrers like Roxio D2D or Sonic DLA.
But just to satisfy your curiosity, here's some info. When installing EMC 9 on XP or Vista, the D2D based version is installed. If you have Win2000, then the DLA based version is installed since D2D (in v9) is not compatible with Win2000.

Thanks to both of you! It is now clear that it depends on which OS it is being installed on.
I have also picked up on and understand the reason for not using packet writing having read through this forum.
