Hello,
I try to install the content CD from Easy Media Creator 8 and I get an RUNTIME ERROR from file C:\WINDOWS\INSTALLER\MSI14.TMP The program Slideshow does not open. It lets me select it but the just comes back to the home screen. I am running Windows 2000 Professional, P4 2GHz, 512MB RAM and plenty of hard drive space available. The main programs do work. I have tried to uninstall both the content cd and program cd with a restart between the uninstalls and the reinstalls.
The exact error message is:
MICROSOFT VISUAL C++ RUNTIME LIBRARY
RUNTIME ERROR!
PROGRAM: C:\WINNT\INSTALLER\MSI14.TMP
ABNORMAL PROGRAM TERMINATION
Any ideas as to what would cause the runtime error?
Thanks

These error messages mean that, a program says something, but Windows says No, so it terminates the program.
Don't know why this would happen. Try contact roxio support. I think they are free of charge if the issues are about installation. But don't quote me. Double check.

Do you have service pack 4 for the Windows 2000? That is needed.
Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.
