Hi, I just installed the EMC suite 9 and I can't view my uploaded and/or my capture videos in the preview window. Also when I try to go into Videowave, I get a window that says. "Your video card will now be profiled in order to tune the application for optimal performance on your on your system." I press ok, and get "the video card diagnosis failed. The application could not run."

I am using the analog video capture card by ATI TV Wonder Pro and have Windows XP Home Edition

Now, I have been reading some posts on here that might relate to my problem (I don't know if this relates to the answer of my problem) that I might have to use the capture software from my ATI but when I uploaded the EMC it couldn't installed without uninstalling my software from ATI to upload videos. I am thinking this is fine because I want to edit the videos on EMC anyways. Besides I can upload the video from my camcorder in EMC's media import just fine. I also have videos on my computer that are in my media manager that I did upload/capture from my software on ATI.

The problem is I can't view the videos in the preview window. I just get a blank screen. I can't view the videos from the videos I recently uploaded and the videos in my media manager. I am thinking since I can't access the
videowave or Mydvd because of the warning I get above, I am asking do I need to update something? What should I do? Where do I go? Please give a detailed answer if you could. Thank you in advance for your help.

Well, I am not sure. I guess the video card that came standard with the computer on a Windows XP home edition. Sorry not too computer savvy I am learning though. I thought the ATI TV Wonder Pro was a video card. Could you tell me which one I need to update? If I need to update my standard computer's video card (or Mircosoft) please tell exactly where to do this? If I need to update the drivers on my ATI, I guess I could go to the website and look for the latest update on drivers.

Please tell me what to do. I hope I don't need a whole new video card to place in my computer. I updated this computer enough. Thank you so much in advance.

Go to (Windows) Start>Run.>Type in dxdiag >select OK> Go to the Display tab. On the left side will be your video information; on the right, will be the driver ID, Version and Date. Post the information here and someone will help you find the drivers.

Also go to the Microsoft home page and update your copy of DirectX 9c.

What is the make and model number of your computer? What updates did you do?

I doubt if this will help but open VideoWave or MyDVD if you can and go to the top menu. Click on tools then options and put a dot by software.

Make: Dell

Model: Dimension 2400

Ok, I follow your steps. Got the information on my computer. I went to Mircosoft.com and tried to download the updated version of Directx9c but the download failed. I searched why and guessed I had to enable my Direct Acc. and Direct Draw appl. because that is what I keep coming across and when I went to check and test it on my computer it was not available. So... after two nerve wrecking hours I complete it and the download Directx 9c was successful. I can now view the videos in EMC in the preview window.

Now I have a new problem, from the videos I uploaded/captured from my video camcorder last night through my ATI on Media Import. I can't hear any sound. I can hear sound from my videos I already had on my computer before installing EMC. But like I said I can't use the software that came with my ATI TV Wonder, because I couldn't install EMC without uninstalling the ATI software.

Well, I am going to search on here for sound answers and try to upload another video and see what happens but if anyone can help please let me know what to do in detail.

Thank you so much for you guys helping so far, and for others in advance.
