I'm sorry if I'm asking a question that's already been answered, but I've searched for nearly an hour and come up empty-handed.
I recently purchased a Dell with Vista Home Premium and "Roxio Creator 9 Premium" pre-installed. The Roxio program cost $79. The OEM CD is labeled "Roxio Creator & MyDVD 9.0 DE".
When I start it, the splash screen says that I'm running "Easy Media Creator 9". The title at the top of the Roxio window says "Roxio Creator DE" and Help/About calls the program "Roxio Creator DE 9.0.116". There are a half dozen screens that recommend that I upgrade to "Easy Media Creator 9". I think I'm running EMC 9, but I'm not sure because of all the mixed-up feedback.
According to the Roxio website, both EMC 9 Suite and EMC 9 Deluxe Suite include DVD playback. For the life of me, I can't find any way to make my Roxio program play a DVD.
Does anybody have any idea whether my program is or isn't EMC 9? Should I have the ability to play DVDs? Any suggestions on how I can find it?
Thanks in advance for your assistance.

That rev number sounds as if you have the Dell OEM version of EMC9 (and the 'DE' would tend to confirm that)
This is a cut down version issued by Dell and some parts will be missing but, not having a copy of that myself, I honestly can't say what is or what is not included

If it ain't broke, fiddle with it until it breaks, then fiddle with it until you get it fixed

The app you are looking for is called CinePlayer. Try going to Start -> Programs -> Roxio..... and looking there for it.

Thanks. I think I'm going to contact Dell about this, because paying $79 for a stripped-down version of software with a $79.99 list price is highway robbery. This is a cut down version issued by Dell and some parts will be missing but, not having a copy of that myself, I honestly can't say what is or what is not included

Thanks for the tip. I knew where to look, but the app isn't there.
