I am thinking I made a huge mistake buying EMC9...so far it's like a big POS.
I had to do the uninstall thing, that seemed to help. Now I've got my entire project done and when I tried to burn it using MyDVD, I crashed with the following error:
8007000e Error while encoding movie.
Anyone have any suggestions or possible causes?
Running Dell w/WindowsXP, SP2, current on NVDIA video card driver and Direct X (had to fix those when I couldn't get it to work properly the first time I started my project)
Thanks.

If you burn direct to disc, try burning to an image file first. Make sure you have the lasted drivers for your video card and updated to the latest version of DirectX. And, keep your hard drive defragged.

An unrecoverable device error occurred. Error while Encoding Movie
8007000e Error while Encoding Movie
Anyone seen that error message before?
I tried updating my DMA mode from Device Manager as recommended by the support help file.
Grrrrrrr
Paul:
how do I burn an image file from the MyDVD application? There isn't a file extension for that. Do I have to come at it in one of the other apps that aren't MyDVD?

When you click the burn button, uncheck the 'burn to disc' box and check the 'save image file' box. You can browse to where you want to save the ISO file and name it what you want. When completed, open up Disc Copier and browse to where you saved your ISO file and select it and burn it to disc. You can then make as many copies that you want without doing the MyDVD process again.

One other thing you can try, if you're not already doing this, if it still isn't working, is to open MyDVD from Start -> Programs -> Roxio..... rather than from the Roxio Home screen. That has helped others with similar problems.

Thanks Larry, I had picked up that tip from this discussion site and that's how I have been opening my programs. I rendered an iso image and I am now disc copying to a DVD, so the proof will be in the pudding if the disc actually plays in another DVD player when I'm done.
Does it usually take minute for minute to disc copy from an iso image?

No, the time to burn the iso to disc depends on the burn speed and the size of the file.
