I had to reformat my laptop and reinstall evrything from scratch. After I reinstalled EMC 7.5, several errors came out once I started using the software. When I used the Roxio Disc Copier, and error appeared saying:"Cannot initialize API. Please reinstall the Roxio Software." Another error came up when I used the Drag-to-Disc. It says: "Drag-to-Disc could not start because components necessary to run are missing. Please re-install Drag-to-Disc." One last error came out when Creator Classic was used. It says: "Dragon Engine initialization failed."

Ever since this problem came out, I have been uninstalling and reinstalling EMC 7.5 for several times. And each time during its installation, I haven't encountered any problem. Problem only pops out whenever I try to use the software. I have even tried all EMC7.5 troubleshootings posted on the knowledge base page. For now, my EMC 7.5 remained seated in my laptop and is USELESS. Please, I need help in making this work again.

Besides the fact that you are using a laptop, list the specs for your system. Including OS, IE and WMP versions.

Hey Larry, thanks for your reply. I'm running Windows XP Pro SP2 on a Dell Inspiron 6000 with IE 7 and WMP Version 11.

Unfortunately, IE 7 "breaks" EMC 7 - along with a lot jof other software - with changes it makes to the Operating System.  We also have reports WinPlayer 11 also causes serious problems.

If you want to keep these "critical updates" you are going to need newer recording software if the built-in WinXP burning isn't enough.

Or, you can roll back to IE 6 and WinPlayer 10.

Hi Lynn, thanks for your reply, however, before I reformatted my laptop, I already had IE 7 and WMP 11 working together with EMC 7.5 with no problem.

You may have had Creator Classic working with IE 7 and WMP 11 on your computer, but you didn't have anything else working.

I did extensive testing with IE 7 on my computer, and I can tell you, if you want to use EMC 7 or 7.5, you have to roll back to IE 6 and WMP 10 or 9.

If you want the junk browser and player on your computer, you need to upgrade to EMC 9.

You may have to reinstall EMC 7.5, once you roll back, but hopefully not.

Thanks grandpabruce. I did exactly what you guys suggested. I rolled back to IE 6 and WMP 9. I also did uninstall and reinstall EMC7.5. I also downloaded Firefox, which by the way is better than IE. However with all these changes, I still get those same error messages. I know that when I bought the EMC7.5, it cost me a lot of money. Do you have any other suggestion? Thanks a lot.

For the dragon engine problem (if that's still present) try this

If it ain't broke, fiddle with it until it breaks, then fiddle with it until you get it fixed

If what Daithi said does not help, you have to download the latest version of Napster, install it, make sure all modules in EMC 7.5 are working, then uninstall Napster, if you don't want it on your computer.

Napster doesn't hurt anything, but if you don't want in, uninstall it.
