I have just installed EMC 9 and I'm trying to capture video from the VCR I have hooked up to my TV tuner. But when I select video from Media Import the only option I get is SMRT capture. After selecting that all the buttons are locked and I can't do anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks.

Try using the software that came with your capture card. You can then use the captured files in VideoWave.

I've got a Sony Vaio and I've been using Click2DVD which came with it and intent was to replace it with EMC. Do you know EMC won't do analog captures? Is it something proprietary to Sony?
Thanks for your help.

It recognizes some capture cards, but I never got it to work with my Hauppauge, so I just used the Hauppauge software, and all worked well.

Sounds like a winner. I've never been crazy about Roxio and but it seemed to get the best reviews so I gave it them another try. At least its not crashing my entire machine as other versions have. At least they have somewhere to go for help and advice.
Thanks for your help.

There is still no better consumer product on the market for doing the editing and burning of the captured files.
As I said, use the software from the capture card, then use Roxio for editing and burning of the files to a DVD compliant movie.
