When I go to Add/Remove Programs in Control panel and try to uninstall EMC 7.5 (with the patch), I get the following error message:

This patch package could not be opened.  Verify that the patch package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows installer patch package.

HELP!!!!  What are they talking about?

Also, do the instructions for a clean uninstall or install for EMC 9 work for version 7.5 or not?  The instructions are very confusing in this regard!  And why in the world would we need to clear out all our cookie files and browser history?  What on earth does that have to do with Roxio?

Does EMC 7.5 even work if you try to use one of the programs?  Have you tried the MIcrosoft Cleanup Utility?  To do a clean install, you are basically removing ALL the Roxio files and folders, cookies and registry entries, rebooting and reinstalling.  Regseeker is a good registry cleaner and it's free.

Does EMC 7.5 even work if you try to use one of the programs?  Have you tried the MIcrosoft Cleanup Utility?  To do a clean install, you are basically removing ALL the Roxio files and folders, cookies and registry entries, rebooting and reinstalling.  Regseeker is a good registry cleaner and it's free.

None of the programs will even start...various error messages.  MS Cleanup Utility sounds kinda scary to try, especially since I was messin' around with a reg cleaner that doesn't appear to be working right and now apparently is refusing to undo the changes it did!  I'm almost starting to think I would be further ahead to format the C drive....AAAAHHH!  I was trying to remove all the Roxio files, folders and reg entries with that program ...but ...cookies ...???  Still don't get why a cd burning program would be putting cookies in my browser.  And would it be putting them in ie or in the browser I'm using?  Will check out your reg seeker, thanks.

Since you already messed up your registry, with whatever registry cleaner you used, try the MS Cleanup Utility, and get rid of all Roxio and Sonic entries are still residing on your computer.
