When trying to do a clean install for EMC 9 I am unable to remove the the folders it tells me to. I am prompted to give permission so I do so then it keeps telling me i need permission. I keep clicking try again but nothing happens.

If running under VISTA, go to Windows Security Center in the Control Panel and turn off User Account Control. That way you will not be prompted to give permission for deletion. Of course doing this may expose your PC to unknown activity should your PC be breached some way.

Yeah, permissions are always a function of the Operating System. Whether your like it or not Vista is more strict with permissions then previous versions of Windows.

I think this may help,maybe not.It did solve this same type problem for someone else.Don't worry about the upgrading from XP to Vista part,just look at the 2nd paragraph on.
