I've re-installed three times, works for a day or two then will fail to boot, I click on home or any other option using programs-roxio-video etc. and nothing. No response on my computer at all. I change nothing after using for a full day. Then I try to fire it up today and again....I'm ready to take it back to the store.

The computer or the software? If it is running ok, then it doesn't a few days later, something is going on with your computer.
If you have anything Roxio, running at startup, shut it off, via msconfig, get rid of malware software on your computer, scan for viruses, and defrag your hard drive.
Those maintenance items will certainly help.

Running a registry checker/cleaner frequently? Perhaps that is what is causing the problem.
