EMC 8.0 is my first Roxio product and I'm not in touch with their development policy.

Considering their past history can we consider the 8.05 patch as the final one or will they update in the future ??

Just to know if there is still some hope to make it work :)

It hard to say at this point. I know of a few issues that they are working on. I hope for one in the future.

The normal cycle of software, will normally have service packs over its life span, the 8.5 update will be one of a few over the ongoing life of EMC8, as there will always be Small issues found that were never found in testing....
Look at Microsoft and Nero, they all regally output large updates to there products, and even if you look at EM 7.0 or 7.5 , there has been updates issued over the time.
So my guess would be yes, but it also looks like there is new versions coming out that Patrick posted last week, so that would mean more service packs for different versions out there in the EMC range..

Concerning myself, I tried by 2 different ways to make a DVD with menu starting from a WMV file and both ways crashed (one with a runtime C++ error, one with a BSOD)

As for now, the software is unusable. 2 nights of work and nothing :)
