Hello all, I am planning on making a CD for my students learning English, my idea is to record a reading of text in English and then a reading of the same text in the students' native language, will Roxio 8 allow me to splice the texts together flawlessly? bearing in mind that I will be splicing not only blocks of speech but also some individual words.
Thank you in advance.

Define flawlessly? I don't believe you talking about an alternate language CD where you can select either or. The program will not do that.
You can use Sound Editor to do it (create a mix) If the students have DVD players consider doing it in Video Wave, you can not only have the text one after another but you can put in a still image to illustrate the text (or even a video). VideoWave will allow you to add narration directly to the audio tracks.
Regardless of what I say about computer maintenance, there is no need to defrag a solid state hard drive.
